Welcome to Mt. Gilead!

We thank God for your decision to become a part of what God is doing at Mt. Gilead.

The Word of God declares that “the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord”. It is because our footsteps are divinely ordered, that your journey to Mt. Gilead was not happenstance or fate, but a divine appointment. When God led you to become a part of Mt. Gilead, he knew there was something in you that this ministry needed. As a result, this ministry has an impartation that will lead you to His divine will for your life.

The New Beginnings Orientation is designed to give you an opportunity to meet your new family. Our Bishop and Co-Pastor look forward to meeting with you and sharing their heartbeat for the Kingdom agenda assigned to Mt. Gilead. During this session we provide information pertaining to the history, vision, leadership, and doctrinal beliefs of the ministry. You will be contacted by a representative of our New Members Ministry to confirm the date and time of your class.

We are excited about what God is about to do in your life and it is our privilege to be used as instrument of his love. You are about to embark upon a season of new beginnings, so get ready to witness the power and presence of God in your life!

F.A.Q for New Members

1. What is Helps Ministry?

The purpose of Helps Ministry is to carry out the God-given vision of the ministry. The Apostle Paul addresses the role of Helps Ministry in I Corinthians 12:28 when he describes the various offices in the church:

“You're familiar with some of the parts that God has formed in his church, which is his "body": apostles, prophets, teachers, miracle workers, healers, helpers organizers those who pray in tongues”. - The Message Bible

In this passage of scripture, the Apostle Paul uses the body as the physical image of how God has structured the church. Just as the physical body has many members working together toward a common goal, God has made the church with the same connectivity. As the Apostle Paul lists the different offices or roles within the church body, he describes Helps Ministry as those who are organizers. In other words, this passage is identifying those who represent the infrastructure or framework of the church. Another translation describes Helps Ministry as individuals who have compassion for the sick and with the help of the Holy Spirit, they are equipped to minister to those who are hurting.

2. How do I become a member of Helps Ministry at Mt. Gilead?

Bishop Robertson believes that each member needs a minimum of 90 days to become acclimated to Mt. Gilead and to obtain the spirit of this ministry. During this period, new members are encouraged to complete the New Members Orientation and Fellowship. During this three-month period, members are encouraged to begin praying about what area of Helps Ministry is best suited for them.
At the end of the 90-days, you are eligible to submit a Helps Ministry application which can be found in the Helps Ministry room. Once the application is completed and submitted to the Administrative Assistant, it is reviewed based upon the requirements for participation in Helps Ministry. In order to be a member of Helps Ministry you must:

• Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior
• Be filled with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues
• Be a consistent tither
• Live holy in accordance with the principles outlined in the Word of God
• Attend the Newly Approved Helps Ministry Training

Upon completion of the Newly Approved Helps Ministry Training, You will be contacted by the Overseer of your new ministry.

3. Why do I need to be a tither to be a part of Helps Ministry?

Tithing is what is used by God to fund the work of the ministry.
As a requirement of Helps Ministry, this is simply an extension of the command in the Word of God to give God a tenth of your firstfruit earnings to God. As stated in Leviticus 27:30, the tithe is holy, and this belongs to God. Helps Ministry personnel must set the tone for the rest of the ministry in their obedience to God’s commands. And as a result of this obedience, we believe God’s word to be true when he says in Malachi 3.10 that he will open up the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that there will not be room enough to receive them!

4. Why do I need to be filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues to be a part of Helps Ministry?

Being filled with the Holy Ghost is a requirement to be a part of the Helps Ministry at Mt. Gilead because we know from the Word of God that being filled is a prerequisite to receiving power. In this life, we are constantly faced with challenges, particularly as Christians who desire to live according to the Word of God. The good news is that our God is so loving and gracious toward us that He would never give us a commandment or assignment (i.e. Be ye holy for I am holy) without giving us the power to be complete that assignment.

Bishop and Co-Pastor Robertson consider all Helps Ministry personnel as the core leadership of the church. Therefore, your ability to live holy will set the tone for the ministry. When the house is holy, the atmosphere is set for the One who is holy to minister to the people of God.

Acts. 2:l-4
" And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

As you are filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking In tongues, you have the power to operate in the supernatural. The Holy Spirit was left here in the earth to be our helper. Jesus said in John 14:18 ”I will not leave you comfortless, but will leave for you a comforter.” Now that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us, our assistance in the earth is found in the Holy Spirit.

When you pray using your spiritual language/tongues you are able to pray a perfect prayer to God because it is your spirit communing or communicating with the Holy Spirit. So often we attempt to pray based upon our understanding of a particular situation. Soulish prayers, which are prayers that have their origin from your mind, will, and emotions, will not allow you to tap into the realm of the supernatural. Unfortunately, because we were not created to be omniscient (all knowing), our prayers can be limited by our understanding and knowledge of a given situation. But thank God for the Holy Spirit who knows all and leads us into all truth!

5. Where should I turn for any questions that I may have about the ministry?

Your contact from the New Members Ministry would be the primary contact for general questions related to the ministry. They are well equipped to handle any questions you may have or to point you to the most suitable person to handle your concerns.
