Our work in the area of home missions is based upon the command of God to win souls for the Kingdom. Jesus provides the ultimate example of how to minister to those who are hurting – both locally and abroad. We recognize that effective ministry occurs outside the four walls of the church and we are determined to be a Church that Matters.

Whether it is a local homeless shelter, a jail or street witnessing on a Friday night, our Community Evangelism Outreach initiatives focus on sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Most recently Mt. Gilead has hosted a doughnut give away to businesses around the city, and visited three local abortion clinics on the same day to take a stand against abortion.

For Immediate Release:

Mt. Gilead’s Fight Against Abortion Intensifies

RICHMOND, VA, June 20, 2007 - On June 23, 2007 from 7:30 am until 10:30 am, Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, a 4,500-plus congregation, headed by Bishop Daniel Robertson, Jr. and Co-Pastor Elena Robertson will converge on the streets of downtown Richmond to wage attack on abortion. The choir will be present at the Women’s Medical Center For Women located at 118 N Boulevard, Richmond, VA, to sing song selections. In addition, many others will be present to pray and offer advice and an alternative to those seeking to have an abortion.

The pastor of this 4,500-plus ministry located at 2501 Mt. Gilead Boulevard in Chesterfield County, VA states, “We are not condemning women for making the choice to abort their child, that’s the Holy Spirit’s job. What we want to do is offer them an alternative to abortion.” The call to intensify the fight against abortion was heard loud and clear this past Sunday, as Bishop Robertson asked his members if they were too good to go where people needed them the most. Robertson, in his bluntness stated, “We might as well not have a choir if we can’t do something which benefits people’s lives outside of these church walls.” He went on to say, “We will have such a large turn out that we will go to three abortion clinics on Saturday. Sitting in air conditioned buildings while babies are being murdered doesn’t impress anyone, especially not God.”

The group has been demonstrating for the past 2 years, but is now increasing its aggressiveness on June 23rd, considering the number of abortions since 1973 is estimated to be near an alarming 40 million.
