Bishop Daniel Robertson, Jr. is known as an energetic communicator who has been anointed to convey the powerful and practical truths of God’s word to audiences of all ages. A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Bishop Robertson began to exhibit exceptional athletic ability and was offered a four-year football scholarship to James Madison University (JMU), located in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

While his athletic prowess was unmistakable as a wide receiver, God had a much greater plan in His heavenly playbook. Bishop Robertson accepted Christ while attending JMU and served as a devoted member of the Student Christian Outreach Ministry. He graduated from JMU with a Bachelor of Science degree and soon after enrolled in the Medical College of Virginia (MCV), to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. He later received a Masters of Divinity degree at Virginia Union University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

With an evangelistic anointing, Bishop Robertson successfully founded a campus Bible Study group, affectionately called B.A.S.I.C. (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) during his tenure at MCV. Soon after graduation, he became a full-time pharmacist while receiving consecutive pastoral assignments in Harrisonburg, Wytheville, and Richmond, Virginia. While Bishop Robertson is still a registered pharmacist, he has since retired and is tenaciously devoted to full-time ministry.

Passion, conviction, and clarity are three words that appropriately describe the ministry of Bishop Robertson. He is an accomplished writer and author of two best selling books on leadership. The first, “Plug In,” is a practical guide for pastors, church leaders and businesses followed by his second book, “Coaching: A Kingdom Agenda,” which is an excellent resource for developing leaders and building a strong organization. His latest release is a Motivational Calendar entitled "Thoughts To Walk By." This invaluable resource is filled with scriptures and quotes hand-picked by Bishop Robertson to motivate individuals on a daily basis.

Bishop Robertson currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries located in Richmond, Virginia. His visionary leadership has taken the congregation from a membership of 25, to over 4,500 in a span of eleven years. Attempting to address the phenomenal growth, in 2001 this thriving congregation began holding three services each Sunday, operating as a well-oiled machine. Despite their careful planning, God continued to send new members from the north, south, east and west. As one of Chesterfield, Virginia’s fastest growing churches, Mt. Gilead was forced to begin holding two worship services each Sunday in a local high school auditorium. With the theme of "Building A City, Reaching the World," and an army of faithful and enthusiastic members, Mt. Gilead transitioned from worshipping in a school to 75 acres of Promise Land. The rapid growth is now accommodated by a 62,000 square foot building, which was completed in August of 2004. It is the first of several buildings on the campus of this dynamic ministry. God has commissioned Mt. Gilead to "Change Lives With The Word of God" by delivering a Relevant and Practical Word.

Within two years, his hard work and passion for excellence resulted in his appointment as First Assistant to the 2nd Presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, Bishop Neil C. Ellis. Bishop Robertson and his wife, Co-Pastor Elena Robertson, are the blessed parents of three children: Daniel III, Charity Joy, and David Jeremiah.
